Domain
Forwarding features
Prevent
Cyber Squatting: Many businesses reserve
additional domain names to prevent "cyber
squatting" by domain vultures and to
maintain control of their intellectual property.
These domain names can be put to good use
by directing visitors to the web site.
Expand Your Web Site:
To give the impression that your web
site is larger than it actually is, you
may use forwarded domains to target "departments"
of your site. Even though each "department"
may be as small as one page, you can use
a domain such as www.companyservice.com
to forward to www.company.com/service.html.
When marketing your "departments,"
this will give the impression to your visitors
that your site is in fact much larger than
it actually is and it will become much easier
to distribute links to your site.
Never Pay for Hosting:
If you are currently hosted on a free
web space provider, or your ISP allows you
web space, you may register a domain and
forward it to that hosting account. For
Example, if you had a free hosting account
from Earthlink, it may look something like
this: http://members.earthlink.net/members/~yourfolder.
With domain forwarding, you can register
a domain name and have it forward to that
account, eliminating the need to remember
that sloppy URL provided to you. All you
would have to remember and distribute is
www.yourcompany.com!
Free Email!:
If you are currently hosting with Webservio,
Inc., you may receive free email at your
forwarded domain! With your current hosting
account (www.abc.com), all email
address at your forwarded domain (www.xyz.com)
will instantly be available under the parent.
For example, if your current hosting domain
name is www.abc.com and at that domain
you have the email address [email protected],
when you sign up for a forwarded domain
www.xyz.com you will instantly have
the email address [email protected] if
you have requested so. This email address
will simply forward on to [email protected].
It's that simple!
Multilingual Support:
Accessibility is an important factor
in today's web experience. With domain forwarding,
you can offer users a domain name for the
secondary or tertiary language that your
site is written in. For instance, www.yourcompanyespanol.com
can forward into www.yourcompany.com/espanol
thus eliminating the need for multiple hosting
accounts.
