I suspect spam messages are coming through my second priority MX record used for Mail Bagging. |
A second priority MX record allows the Webservio Mail Bagging system to work. At times, spammers use different MX records randomly to spam. If your mail server is receiving large amounts of spam, we recommend our Email Defense solution which is an anti-spam/virus filtering system combined with the Mail Bagging solution. To learn more about the Email Sheltering services and plans offered please refer to the following web pages:

What will happen if I do not have a Webservio MX backup (aka Mail Bagging) solution? |
If you do not have a Backup MX Server (aka Mail bagging or Backup MX), the following conditions may occur:
- Email will bounce (Returned to Sender)
- Your (inbound) email will cause a backup in the originating mail server's spool
- Service Timeout; Depending on the Retry Attempts by the originating mail server, your mailboxes may never receive their incoming email
- Users may not understand bounce messages; To most users, bounce messages are unreadable, so when they can't send an email, they may not try to resend.

Will emails always go through your MX Failover (MX Backup) server first and then hit our Exchange Server, or would emails go through your server only when our Exchange Server is down? |
This depends on the way the MX record is setup. In most cases the Backup mail server should be set up as the secondary priority and, as a result, most of the emails would primarily be delivered to your Exchange Server first. The best and most effective set up for email security is our MX Defense Solution which is our MX Backup Solution armed with Anti-Spam portals. These Anti-Spam portals are located at multiple premium facilities in East and West coast. This solution will route emails through the anti-spam servers before sending them to your Exchange server during your uptime.

|
What will happen to emails if you are down (your server is down, no power, etc...)? |
We offer 99.9% uptime wilth all of our services and 99.999% for Email Defense Services. For a mission critical solution for Fail Over MX (aka Mail Bagging and Backup MX) services, we recommend our dedicated plans with optional redundancy of the solution. All plan may be customized to fit your specific email backup needs.

|
Will there be any delay in message delivery if all emails would go through your server first? |
We recommend delivering emails through our Email Defense Solution which is our MX Backup (aka Mail Bagging, MX Fail Over) services along with our anti-spam (SpamWeeder) solution. When your primary mail server is available, your emails should only route through our servers first if you use our SpamWeeder solution, which will not cause a delay in message delivery. We do not recommend using your backup MX record as your highest priority.
