What will happen if I do not have a Webservio MX backup (aka Mail Bagging) solution? |
If you do not have a Backup MX Server (aka Mail bagging or Backup MX), the following conditions may occur:
- Email will bounce (Returned to Sender)
- Your (inbound) email will cause a backup in the originating mail server's spool
- Service Timeout; Depending on the Retry Attempts by the originating mail server, your mailboxes may never receive their incoming email
- Users may not understand bounce messages; To most users, bounce messages are unreadable, so when they can't send an email, they may not try to resend.

What is Email Continuity and when would I use it? |
Email Continuity is an additional to Webservio's mail backup solution which allows all your email users to send and receive email messages during your mail server outage. With both POP3 and Web based access, users may simply continue to send and receive emails from their outlook as if there is no interruption, or if there is no internet connectivity, Web based email accounts can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This solution will ensure business continuity when it is essential to have no email downtime. |
|
What if I have no internet access for an extended period of time yet I still need to continue my email communication? |
Email Continuity is often referred to as Email Disaster Recovery. This is because there are numerous situations, such as natural disasters, in which your mail server and/or internet is down for a long period of time. During such disturbances, business must still proceed. Email Continuity will give email access through Web based, as well as POP3 accounts, so that communication can continue from a different location that has internet connectivity. |
|
When my mail server goes down and I am sending messages from my Email Continuity Web based account, will my email recipients see an unfamiliar address? |
No, you can control your Web based email 'reply to' settings so that your correspondents only see that the messages are coming from your primary email account and address. |
|
What does exchange continuity mean? |
This is a terminlogy that was created by iteself. We noticed that customers with exchange servers have considered our email continuity product to be called exchange continuity as well. |
|
Does email continuity product work with any versions of exchange servers? |
Absolutely. As a matter of fact the email continuity solution works with any types of servers. Some of our exchange customers refer to this solution as exchange continuity. |
|
Will emails always go through your MX Failover (MX Backup) server first and then hit our Exchange Server, or would emails go through your server only when our Exchange Server is down? |
This depends on the way the MX record is setup. In most cases the Backup mail server should be set up as the secondary priority and, as a result, most of the emails would primarily be delivered to your Exchange Server first. The best and most effective set up for email security is our MX Defense Solution which is our MX Backup Solution armed with Anti-Spam portals. These Anti-Spam portals are located at multiple premium facilities in East and West coast. This solution will route emails through the anti-spam servers before sending them to your Exchange server during your uptime.
